  • "Nothing Was Beautiful, And Everything Hurt" lapel pin (LIMITED EDITION of 100)

Wear your dark sense of humor and/or nostalgia on your sleeve (or lapel, or any other place you feel appropriate) with this limited edition pin, and help fund the mixing/mastering of our new 4-song EP, "The Connotations Get Together, or Nothing Was Beautiful, And Everything Hurt". The design is a play on an illustration originally found in the Vonnegut classic, Slaugterhouse Five, but with a nihilistic twist in reference to the struggles of youth and hindsight. Each pin comes on a numbered backing card (edition of 100).

Specs: 1.25" tall, antique nickel finish, double posts/black rubber clutches on back

*NOTE: Due to the nature of the "antiquing" process, no two pins are 100% identical. Some may be more weathered than others, and this is completely normal for this finish option.

    Sold Out

lyrics

We were killing all our time looking for an adventure,
But what did we know? We were too young, too dumb
And we were wasting our time
We were wasting our time
Yeah we were wasting our time

And you were standing on the side of the road in the winter
Waiting for summer to come, but you were there only six months ago
And you were wasting your time
And now you're wasting my time

But darlin' I could be wrong
But I never claimed I could be that strong
The flesh was willing, the spirit was weak
When the tables turned all over me
And I'm sorry I wasn't there for you,
But the lights were too bright and you were too
And I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do,
But I twist and twist and twist
I'll be too tired to move
Too tired

I was looking to escape,
I was looking for a way out, a way out
On a Saturday night
I should go home and sleep
I was looking to escape,
I was looking for a way out, a way out
On a Saturday night
I should go home and sleep
I was looking to escape,
I was looking for a way out, a way out
On a Saturday night
Big bright lights and screams
I was looking to escape,
I was looking for a way out, a way out
On a Saturday night
I should go home
I should go home

But darlin' I could be wrong
But I never claimed I could be that strong
The flesh was willing, the spirit was weak
When the tables turned all over me
And I'm sorry if I wasn't there for you,
But the lights were too bright and you were too
And I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do,
But I twist and twist and twist
I'll be too tired to move
I'm too tired
